Can You Install a Canon Printer Without the CD?

Canon printers are some of the best printers on the market, but many people have trouble installing them because they don’t have access to a CD that comes with the printer when it’s purchased. Since you can download the drivers off of Canon’s website and Windows usually has them pre-installed, you should be able to install your Canon printer without any problems if you’re able to find the right drivers and follow the right steps. Let’s look at how to install your printer in three different ways: with an online CD, through USB, or through Ethernet/wireless.

How to find your model number

The first step to installing a printer without the CDs is knowing which model you’re using. Most of us are familiar with at least some of our printer’s features, so find where your Canon printer indicates its model number. For example, my Canon printers have their model numbers located under their lids. If your printer has nothing labelled on it at all, use Google to search for information about your specific model you can find it by doing an online search for Canon Mg3650.

How to download the drivers

Installing drivers is one of those things that we need to do, but nobody wants to do. And if you’re new to computers, finding and installing drivers can be especially confusing. First off, there are two types of computers printers ones that come with a disc (these are often less expensive) and ones that don’t come with discs at all (these cost more). But once you get past cost differences, it doesn’t matter which kind you buy either way you have to install your printer. In other words, all printers must be installed in order for them to work properly on your computer! So, how do you go about doing that? Well, here’s what you need to know:

The first thing you should do is locate your driver’s disk. If you bought a printer that came with a disk, look for it now. If not, check online to see if you can download drivers from Canon’s website or from another source like CNET or Driver Guide. Once you’ve found your driver disk or downloaded your driver file, double-click on it to start the installation.

The alternative method – download from their website

Many manufacturers offer drivers for installation without a disc. This is ideal because it gets you around having to deal with installation errors. To do so, go directly to your printer manufacturer’s website (such as Canon or Epson) and search for drivers. These are also typically found in your computer’s control panel menu under devices. If you’re trying to install it on a Windows-based machine, choose Windows Update first (you can find it under Control Panel > System). That will give you access to updates that already exist on your system, and if any of those affect your printer driver, they’ll update right away.

Installing your printer

Many people choose to install their printers using CDs. This can be somewhat inconvenient, especially if you are installing your printer somewhere that is not easily accessible by a computer with an Internet connection. Fortunately, it is possible to install your printer without using any software; in fact, installation procedures may vary depending on whether or not you have your printer connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. If you already know how to connect and setup your printer, then check out our tips for how to do so with Windows 8. Most of us have probably had to set up our printers at one point or another and are familiar with how it’s done. However, as technology changes so does what you need to do in order to install your printer driver and there may be more than one way for you to do it. The most common way people have successfully installed their Canon printers without using the installation CD was by downloading an updated copy of their specific printer driver from an online source.

What ink does a Canon printer use?

Most printers, including most of Canon’s printers (and others made by HP, Epson, and Lexmark) use ink cartridges. The type of ink cartridges that these printers use vary from printer to printer – black and colour toner for colour printers; pigment-based inks for some black-and-white models; dye-based inks for some photo printers.

Each printer is different so it is best to check your user manual or contact tech support if you need help.

Canon’s printers come with ink cartridges that are guaranteed to work in your specific printer. However, it’s sometimes possible to find third-party ink cartridges at lower prices than those offered by Canon. However, because they aren’t made specifically for your printer and will almost certainly be manufactured using different techniques, they might not provide you with consistent results. If you’re curious about using third-party ink, do some research on what type of problems others have encountered with them.

Does HP and Canon use the same ink?

HP and Canon printers both use ink. But what they use, where they get it, how they put it in their printers, and even why they sell it in different colours are all very different things. It’s important to know what makes an HP printer different from its Canon counterpart before you decide on which printer to buy. While there are some similarities between these two brands, there are more differences than you might expect. Understanding those differences will help ensure that your choice is made correctly and that you don’t wind up spending money on cartridges that won’t work with your printer or worse yet one of those dreaded rebates that never seem to come through when you actually need it most.
