Printing technology is getting more sophisticated and requires people to keep up with the pace at which this industry changes in 21st century. I remember years back that I used to go to the internet coffee shop, pay for a time slot to print my documents or to scan my documents to send to my employer. However, these days, you can do this within the comfort of your own home. All you need is internet service, getting the appropriate printer that is reliable, affordable and have features you want such as been able to scan your document black or colour, been able to print double sided which I find very good as it saves paper and increases customer productivity. You also need printer with good resolution and high printing speed for printing black and colour documents.
It is beautiful that with your printer you can copy, scan, print and fax all within your own home or office. You can also connect your printer with WIFI or wireless network that allows you to send work to your printer when you are in your bedroom or different room to where the printer is kept. The beauty of this is you don’t need to hook up your printer in USB cable (Hard wired) and you can send your work to the printer from your mobile phone, smartphone, and computer. I must say that I still find USB cable handy and useful especially, if for one reason or the other one is not able to connect the printer via a wireless network, USB would help. But like many technologies USB cable got its own deficit because it would limit your freedom as you need to be physically present to print, copy and scan your document when connected via USB cable.
Connecting your printer to WIFI network makes things a lot easier as you are able to do your work away from where the printer is kept but it is never easy which I would share with some of the reports I received online.
As someone who have YouTube channel Vinneltv that focuses on printers and technology. I do feel customer’s pain and frustration and very much empathised with them at the same time trying to create value and help as many customers as I can.
Anonymous client reported that and I quote “Hp needs to sort it out, these printers are difficult and not easy to set up if you ever change your router”.
Another reported that he just smashed the printer that “Hp and Canon printer are very difficult to switch wireless”.
Another customer mentioned” when I try to add printer, the printer’s name won’t come up to connect? What do I do? I recently disconnected my internet and I’m trying to connect to new Wi-Fi connection. Also, my direct Wi-Fi doesn’t want to connect. It was working fine with direct Wi-Fi, but it just stopped connecting I’ve been trying to connect for 3 days now.
As someone who is very passionate about printer and have dedicated so much time creating value to people, helping to educate and solve technical problems people have with their printers. I am not sharing this to paint bad picture of the printing companies but for them to be aware what the consumers are going through for them to help proffer solution.
If you think of it, the big organisations that produce these printers whether HP, Canon, Brother or Epson are very busy, oftentimes it is very difficult to get hold of their customer support on the phone to help and guide customers how to use this ever-changing technology these printers have. I very much want you to take home that the type of printer one has do matters in the functionality of the printer. There are many types of printers like Inkjet printer and Laser jet printer. With Inkjet printer it uses ink cartridges black, or colour depending on the particular printer you are using.
With Laser printer it uses Toner cartridges which used to be all black but recently we are seeing Colour laser where you can print your document with colour on LaserJet printers.
With LaserJet printer, it is advisable to use this in business and industrial use where their requirement for printing work is more often. Inkjet printer would suit family, student, and small business use.
Most of these new technology printers use software Application like HP uses HP Smart APP, Canon uses Canon Print Inkjek/Selphy APP. Epson uses Epson iPrint App, Brother uses iPrint&Scan App. To find this software, you need to go to your mobile phone play store to download the software. You can also visit the company website to download the software by typing your printer’s name and serial number to be able to download the software and driver of your printer good example is Canon. Depending on the country you reside, you can find the official Canon store in your country Consumer Product Support – Canon Europe (canon-europe.com). Here in the UK go to Consumer Product Support – Canon UK then select your product. If you live abroad, you can use Consumer Product Support – Canon Europe (canon-europe.com).
For HP printers, the customer support- software and driver downloads click on this link Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Customer Support .
Click select printer enter product name on the box or you can select product name from the popular printers provided on the HP website. When you find your printer, click on it and it would say something like software and drivers for HP Envy 4500 e All -In -One Print recommended with Link to INSTALL. Clink on the install link to download the HP smart App you need to use your printer.
For Epson printers here is the link Drivers, Technical Support, Downloads, FAQs & Troubleshooting – Epson, then select product set instruction or driver and other software to get the information you need. Or select your printer on Epson website then select you need support to get the link to download the software.
For Brother printers click on the link Support | Tell us how we can help | Brother UK and enter your printer’s serial number to download the software and driver that you need. The best and easy way to download the software for your printer based on my personal experience is using your smart phone to download the software from google play store on your phone.
