2. Connect to the internet

  • Connect to WiFi.

Choose the network you want to connect to from the list on the screen and setup your connection. Choose ‘Automatically connect’ if you always want to be connected to this network at home. Note: if you’re already connecting to the Internet, you have to log in with a Microsoft account in step 4. If you don’t want that, skip this step to create an offline account in step 4.

3. Read the fine print

  • Read the user agreement.

Almost no one reads the fine print, but it’s still good to know what’s in the user agreement. At least scroll through it. Click ‘Agree’ to continue.

4. Log in with a Microsoft account

  • Log in with a Microsoft account.

If you have a Microsoft account, log in and click Next. If you want an account but don’t have one yet, choose ‘Create an account’. If you don’t have an account or don’t want to log in, go back to step 2 if you’ve already connected your laptop to the internet. If you chose to set up an internet connection later, you don’t have to create a Microsoft account because you can log in with an offline account.

5. Set a username and password

  • Choose a username and password.

Enter the username you want to use on your new laptop here. Click Next and enter a password.

6. Adjust the privacy settings

  • Select the desired privacy settings.

By default, Windows 10 sends all kinds of data on your use of the laptop and Windows to Microsoft. We recommend the standard settings. Want more privacy? Turn the desired settings to ‘Off’ and click ‘Agree’.

7. The Acer registration screen

If necessary, register your product with Acer.

Finally, you have the option of registering with Acer. You definitely won’t need it to get the most out of your laptop.

After this step, your laptop will install the latest Windows updates. This usually takes a few minutes, but sometimes it can take a few hours.

8. Getting started with your Acer laptop

  • Getting started with your new Acer laptop.

Well, those were a lot of screens, but the installation is done! Log in with your newly created Windows account and get started with your laptop. Note that the laptop will probably have to install a single Windows 10 update. This should not take long, but it’s important that you install it before you can get the most out of your purchase.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol9G8ggnNLM
