Most of us wish to be financially independent thus we usually search for various ways by which wealthy people manage their businesses. I was one of the people who had always failed to manage my daily tasks before I read through an article which completely changed my life. From that day, I developed several habits that I apply until now in my entrepreneurial journey.
1. SCHEDULING MY DAILY ACTIVITY
Simple as it seems but it is one thing that can change your life into a more productive one. Most of us we have tasks that we are supposed to do but we fail to do them because we have not put aside to do them. So every day before I start any activity, I look at my emails and also see if I have any pending tasks that I need to do and then schedule them according to the level of urgency. It’s not easy to follow your daily activity plan but if you are serious and determined to achieving them, then you will put effort into doing what you have planned for that day.
2. WATCHING A MOTIVATIONAL VIDEO EVERY MORNING
Starting a day with a positive mind is one of the greatest things that can ever happen to every entrepreneur and there is no better way than starting your day by watching a motivational video. Most people feel like watching motivational videos is just a waste of time but I assure you, you will need the video when you reach your clacking point as you do your work. There is a point in time when you no longer have the energy to complete the task that you had planned, but once you think of the motivation video, it will remind you of your aim and you will have the energy to push you further.
3. EXERCISING
Having good health is the most important ingredient needed to achieving your daily goals. Exercising helps our body with endurance thus we can be able to work for a long time without getting tired. Before I started exercising, I used to get tired so easily which made me postpone work for another day, but the moment I started doing exercises, my body was able to endure long hours of work. It is important to remember that there is no greater failure than having money but poor in health. You can start with little exercise for 30 minutes a day and build the moment.
4. CONSISTENT SLEEP SCHEDULE.
It is scientifically proven that our bodies do well when they have enough sleep each day. Before I understood my body better, I would sleep at 04AM and wake up by 07hrs, but this just made my productivity level lower. When you don’t sleep enough, your brain can’t have new idea and your body will be worn out, it is thus very important to set the perfect time to sleep and for waking up. Once you start having enough sleep within the scheduled time, you will not just improve your productivity, but also your health.
5. INCENTIVE REWARD
Having a reward for completing scheduled tasks will motivate you to complete them. Having to treat yourself with something every day you accomplish your goal will keep you in high spirit, you can take yourself to a movie or treat yourself to a better meal as a reward. Before I became disciplined, I never thought how important it was rewarding myself every day I achieved a milestone, but once I did, I had the reason behind working hard each day.
Probably you feel demotivated or unable to achieve your business goals, you can try applying these rules to your daily routine and I promise you will become more successful at accomplishing your dreams.
6. Getting things done.
We all have different commitments we want to sustain , we want to commitment to our family , businesses, work live balance and area of life we want to maintain. However, we often become overweigh about this commitments. You need to organise your productivity in horizontal and vertical according to David Allen . Horizontal is about keeping things very tidy and maintaining horizonal coherence. While vertical line of productivity mean within a given area we want to efficiently and effectively get stuff done that move us towards a particular goal.
