HP OFFICEJET 9012e: HP has had a solid selection of printers ranging from casual home use to industrial scale, so it was well positioned. With an eye on the growing work-from-home sector, the Officejet 9012e fits perfectly between traditional small or home office (SOHO) and bigger business-focused computers. However, in an increasingly crowded market for such MFPs, there are several drawbacks.
Information on the product
- The HP Officejet 9012e is perfect for a small business or a home office with one to five users. It boosts productivity with quick print rates, unique mobile shortcuts, automated 2-sided printing, scanning, and copying, as well as HP+, a smart printing system that keeps you more safe, productive, and sustainable than ever before.
- Print professional-quality color documents like presentations and sales collateral with optional borderless printing, which is ideal for small enterprises and home offices. With a big 250-sheet paper tray and print speeds of up to 20 pages per minute in black and 16 pages per minute in color, you can stay productive.
- Faster color printing, copying, scanning, and faxing, as well as 2-sided printing, copying, and scanning. With the handy color touchscreen control panel, you can easily print from mobile, wireless, Ethernet, USB drive, or voice-activated printing. The 35-page auto document feeder allows you to work quickly and hands-free. Upgraded scanning with easy-to-remove glass and dual-pass, two-sided scanning via the auto document feeder.
- Intelligent dual-band Wi-Fi detects and fixes connection difficulties automatically using self-heal to help eliminate disruptions.
- Basic encryption, password protection, Wi-Fi security, and document protection are all important security features.
- HP’s warranty has been extended by two years.
- 2 years of experience Features of the HP Smart app
- For every page you print, we plant trees and conserve forests.
- Smart app from HP – From anywhere, you can print, scan, and copy using your phone. Shortcuts can be used to eliminate steps in repetitive processes. Scan documents to Dropbox, Google Drive, and other cloud storage services directly from your phone. Advanced capabilities in the Smart app, such as better security and advanced scanning features like multi-item identification, are available with HP+.
- Performance
The 9012e can print and scan at a resolution of 1200×1200 DPI, which is great, but high resolution always comes at a cost. HP claims it can print up to 32 pages per minute in draft mode, even in full color. Unfortunately, we didn’t even come close to achieving this. We were able to get 3 and a half full-color pages or 7 monochrome text-only pages.
- the average duration between pressing the print button and the first-page printing was a dismal 40 seconds, during which there was a mixture of unsettling stillness and noisy whirring and clicking. That continually long gap is incredibly off-putting, which is a shame because the print quality is great even in draft mode.
Basic characteristics
- Instant Ink is now part of HP+, a cloud-based membership program that includes ink refills, extended warranties, and a slew of online services geared toward remote and mobile printing. With only a few taps on the touchscreen, you can print directly from a network folder or NAS, and even save scans to services like SharePoint and Google Drive, which is unusual for a SOHO machine. Signing up for a cloud-based service requires creating an HP+ account, which not only allows you to manage your instant ink account but also allows you to distribute permissions to additional users. However, we wouldn’t recommend using this in a large office.
- A USB 3.0 port is located on the left side of the device, which is suitable for printing directly from a memory stick. There are two RJ11 connections on the back, as well as an ethernet port, an extra USB 2.0 port, and a figure-8 power supply port, for hooking up the ‘nice to have’ fax facility. Bluetooth Smart and Wi-Fi Direct, as well as 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, are all supported.
